The Very Best Of Joni Mitchell PVG Songbook

20 Best Loved Songs Arranged For Piano, Vocal & Guitar

The "Very Best Of Joni Mitchell PVG Songbook" is a lovingly crafted 96-page collection designed for fans and musicians alike who wish to delve into the captivating world of Joni Mitchell—a quintessential figure in the folk/protest music tradition. This compilation features 20 of her most iconic songs, carefully arranged for Piano, Vocal, and Guitar (PVG), encapsulating the raw emotional power and lyrical artistry that Mitchell has imbued in each of her works.

Joni Mitchell's unique voice, which can be described as at once heart-warming, gentle, and soul-stirring, is a pillar of modern American music. Known for her ability to deftly combine personal storytelling with broader themes of human experience and social justice, her music often resonates on a deeply personal and collective level. In this songbook, you'll find timeless classics like "Both Sides Now," a contemplative exploration of life's complexities, and "Big Yellow Taxi," a prescient environmental anthem that remains eerily relevant today.

The arrangements in this collection aim to be faithful to the rich textures and stylistic nuances of the original compositions. Guitar chords are provided alongside piano and vocal melodies, offering a multi-layered approach to each song. This creates an enriching musical experience whether you're a solo pianist, a singer, or part of a more extensive ensemble.

As with the work of her contemporaries like Paul Simon and Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell's impact transcends time and genre. This songbook not only serves as a tribute to her craft but also as a practical tool for musicians to engage with and interpret her work in a meaningful way.
