Originally written as a birthday gift for his daughter Marie, Schumann’s 'Album for the Young' Op. 68 has become one of the most beloved and widely played collections in the piano repertoire. Nearly every piano student has encountered its charming and expressive pieces, which beautifully blend musicality with pedagogical intent.

Less commonly known is that Schumann envisioned this work as part of a broader 'music historical course of instruction'. This carefully revised Urtext edition includes that original educational context, along with other pieces Schumann initially planned for the album, presented in an informative appendix.

Also included are Ludwig Richter’s illustration from the first edition’s title page and a trilingual version of Schumann’s 'Advice to Young Musicians', offering a deeper insight into the values and culture of 19th-century middle-class musical life. 108 pages.

Please allow 1-2 days for handling and 1 to 9 business days for delivery, depending on your selected shipping service. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct delivery address is provided. Express Shipping is available. Please allow 1 day for handling and 2 to 2 working days for delivery, or longer for remote areas. Music2u will not replace any lost or delayed Australia Post items if the Economy Shipping option is selected at checkout.

  • Standard Shipping is a fully tracked service offered through Australia Post. A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 2-6 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 6-8 days.

  • Sendle Courier is a courier service provided to most areas in Australia with deliveries being handled by Couriers Please and Aramex. Please allow 2-8 business days for delivery of your order.

  • Express Shipping is a fully tracked Express Service offered through Australia Post/Toll Priority.  A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 3-6 days.

Tracking Your Order

If your parcel is taking longer than expected, let us know so we can locate your order. If selecting Economy Shipping, you will receive an email confirmation to notify you that your order has been shipped from our warehouse. You will not receive a tracking number for this service.
