Keep Your Oboe in Pristine Playing Condition  

The Yamaha Cleaning Swab - Oboe is a specially designed microfibre cleaning swab intended for use with oboes. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and performance of your oboe, making it an essential item for your instrument maintenance routine.

This pull-through swab is designed to be used with a cleaning rod, allowing for thorough removal of dirt and moisture from inside the instrument. It is recommended to clean the inside of your oboe using this swab after every playing session.

The swab features excellent water absorption properties, quickly and effectively removing moisture and dirt from the instrument's interior. It also dries quickly, preventing mould growth while ensuring cleanliness. Its special fabric and cutting process enable the swab to smoothly pass through your oboe, reducing the risk of it becoming stuck.

    This swab is designed to be inserted and removed through the bell, not pulled completely through the oboe. To use, drop the string through the bell and gently pull the top of the swab through the reed socket. When you begin to feel resistance, stop pulling up, and instead pull on the bottom of the cloth to back the swab out of the bell.

    Ultra-absorbent microfibre

    Microfibre is a synthetic fabric that's extremely absorbent, strong and lint-free. The unique shape of the threads allows microfibre to trap moisture and grime much more effectively than traditional fabrics like cotton or wool, making microfibre the superior choice for cleaning.

    Maximum contact

    The specially designed shape gives this swab maximum contact with the inside of the instrument. This keeps more of the swab touching metal for the best possible cleaning effect while minimising the chance of getting stuck around tight bends.

    Most orders are dispatched via Australia Post, Couriers Please or Aramex. Orders are delivered typically within business hours only. Please allow 1-2 days for handling and 1 to 9 business days for delivery, depending on your selected shipping service. If you have not received your parcel within this time, please get in touch with us and we will open an enquiry for you. 

    It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct delivery address is provided. Express Shipping is available. Please allow 1 day for handling and 2 to 2 working days for delivery, or longer for remote areas. Music2u will not replace any lost or delayed Australia Post items if the Economy Shipping option is selected at checkout. 

    Our Shipping Options Include:

    • Untracked Shipping is an untracked shipping option offered through Australia Post with a Priority stamp. No tracking number is provided with this service. Please allow 4-7 business delays for delivery of your order. 

    • Standard Shipping is a fully tracked service offered through Australia Post. A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 2-6 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 6-8 days.

    • Sendle Courier is a courier service provided to most areas in Australia with deliveries being handled by Couriers Please and Aramex. Please allow 2-8 business days for delivery of your order.

    • Express Shipping is a fully tracked Express Service offered through Australia Post/Toll Priority.  A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 3-6 days.
    • Customer Pickup (Melbourne Only) - Customer Pick up is Now Available in Victoria. Orders can be collected from a Parcel Collect Box located in Dingley Village, Melbourne 3172. You will receive a text/email with your parcel locker code when your order is ready. Pickup orders are processed within 24 hours. You will be notified by phone and email if stock is unavailable. Please contact us directly if you require same day pickup to ensure stock is onsite.

    Tracking Your Order

    You will automatically receive your tracking information via the email you provided in the checkout as a tracking link. You can see the status of your parcel's journey there. If your parcel is taking longer than expected, let us know so we can locate your order. If selecting Economy Shipping, you will receive an email confirmation to notify you that your order has been shipped from our warehouse. You will not receive a tracking number for this service. 

    Pre Orders

    Please note that all 'single' pre-order books that arrive back in stock will ship via the standard Australia Post untracked service. The items that are in-stock will ship via your selected method at checkout, pre-orders will ship un-tracked when they arrive as to not incur an additional shipping fee.
