First We Sing! Digital Resource Supplements Book For Planning & Assessment 📚

Suggested for Grades K-5.

Now you can use technology with FIRST, WE SING!

The "First We Sing! Digital Resource Supplements Book For Planning & Assessment" is a valuable resource designed to enhance the implementation of Kodaly-inspired teaching in elementary music classrooms. Ideal for grades K-5, this digital supplement provides educators with easy-to-use tools to streamline planning, assessment, and teaching strategies.

Key Features of this Resource Include:

1. Digital Templates for Planning and Assessment: These templates can be used as-is or customised to align with grade-level objectives. They cover yearly plans, daily lesson plans, and checklists. Additionally, there are assessment templates designed for efficient group and individual progress tracking. Rubrics and checklists are included to monitor students' growth and development of musical skills, ensuring a comprehensive assessment process.

2. Digital Supplements for Teaching Strategies: This section allows teachers to create student activity slides for various lesson stages, including preparation, presentation, and practice. Each file contains music notation snippets and graphics tailored for use with tablets, computers, or interactive whiteboards. Step-by-step instructions make it simple to customise the content to suit specific teaching needs.

3. Activity Cards in Digital Format: Individual activity cards, which are part of the resource, can now be accessed digitally. Educators can sort, select, and save these cards for easy reference. They can also be copied, dragged, and dropped into folders for specific lessons or browsed digitally for teaching ideas.

The digital resource supplements book, created by Susan Brumfield, harnesses technology to facilitate planning, assessment, and teaching in the music classroom. It offers practical solutions for educators looking to integrate the Kodaly approach effectively while making use of digital tools. This resource enhances the flexibility, creativity, and efficiency of music education, providing a valuable asset for music teachers working with elementary students.
