The HEV2 electric violin from Hidersine offers students a unique practice experience, allowing them to practice in silence using headphones. However, when connected to an amplifier, the violin opens up endless possibilities. It not only produces the sound of a traditional acoustic instrument but can also be connected to a tablet or PC for recording or enhanced with various effects using third-party software.
This outfit includes a quality bow and comes in a protective rectangular case, making it a comprehensive package for electric violin enthusiasts.
An instrument with many possibilities:
Hidersine HEV1 delivers a fantastic tone when amplified or when using headphones, as it will sound just like a regular violin. You want to practise without anyone else hearing? No problem, just pop on a pair of headphones or earbuds and play to your hearts content with almost no audible acoustic tone. Want to play loud and proud? Then plug the violin into an amplifier and crank it up. Want to experiment with your sound? Then use some guitar effects pedals or an app on your phone to add effects to your violin playing for awesome results.
Suitable for all levels of musician:
Although a fantastically useful tool for a violin student, the Hidersine HEV1 is not solely for use in this context. As the violin is built to high standards any player of any standard can pick it up and play immediately. Proficient players can choose this instrument as a backup or additional tool in their musical arsenal, choosing to use the HEV1 as an experimentation tool.
Contemporary look, traditional heart.
Although the Hidersine HEV2 is a modern-looking violin, it is built to the same exacting standards as an acoustic instrument of the same level. The body is made of birch, which helps produce a good resonant tone when amplified. The birch body however has a veneer of flamed maple on the top and back which echoes the look of the hollow maple bodies of acoustic violins. The pegs, fingerboard and chin rest are made of genuine ebony. The use of ebony has long been a mark of a quality violin, as ebony is an excellent hardwood which can withstand the strain of high tension strings for a very long time. Therefore, not only with the fittings look and feel authentically traditional, they will last a lifetime of wear.
Your Playing, Amplified:
Using a ‘Piezo’ pickup located under the maple bridge of the violin, the Hidersine Electric Violin will reliably capture every nuanced detail of your playing style, whether audible externally through an amplifier or played discreetly through headphones.
On one side of the instrument are the outputs – a 6.35mm large jack output for use with most instrument amps, and a 3.5mm mini-jack for use with headphones.
On the other side is a preamp, where volume is controlled along with bass and treble EQ controls. The battery compartment for the preamp is located in the back of the instrument, and this requires a PP3 (square) 9 volt battery to operate.

Most orders are dispatched via Australia Post or one of our courier partners, depending on the shipping service selected and your delivery location.
Please allow 1–2 business days for order processing, plus the estimated delivery timeframe for your selected shipping service. Delivery times may be longer for rural and remote areas.
Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive a shipping confirmation by email. Where a tracked service has been selected, this will also include your tracking information.

Spend $129 or more in a single order and receive FREE tracked shipping Australia-wide. You'll receive tracking information by email once your order has been dispatched.
Express Shipping is a fully tracked priority Express Service offered through Australia Post and Team Global Express. A tracking number will be provided once your order has been shipped. Please allow approximately 1–2 business days for metro areas and additional time for regional and remote destinations, including some areas of WA, NT and North QLD.
Standard Shipping is a fully tracked service offered through Australia Post. Tracking information will be provided once your order has been shipped. Please allow 2–6 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow approximately 6–8 business days.
Courier Shipping is available to most areas across Australia, with deliveries handled by CouriersPlease, Aramex, Team Global Express or another suitable courier partner, depending on your location. Please allow approximately 2–8 business days for delivery. Tracking information will be emailed to you once your order has been dispatched.
Economy Shipping (Untracked) is our low-cost economy option, sent via Australia Post using postage stamps — good old-fashioned snail mail. This service does not include tracking. You'll receive an email confirmation once your order has been dispatched from our warehouse, but no tracking number or delivery updates will be available.
Please allow approximately 5–12 business days for delivery. We do not recommend untracked shipping for time-sensitive orders; please select a tracked or Express service if you need your order by a particular date. Music2u will not replace missing items under the untracked Economy Shipping option.
Customer Pickup (South East Melbourne)
Customer pickup is available from our Dingley Village, Melbourne VIC 3172 location. Pickup orders are generally processed within 24 hours, Monday–Friday. Once your order is ready, you'll receive an email and text message with your unique parcel locker code. Your order can then be collected from the Music2u Parcel Box 24/7, at a time that suits you. Please wait until you receive your ‘Order Ready’ text/email before arriving to collect your order. Your order will not be available for collection before this notification has been sent.
If an item is unavailable or requires additional time to arrive, we'll contact you by phone or email. If you require an urgent pickup, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm the stock is available onsite.

Pre-Orders
If your order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, the in-stock items will be dispatched using the shipping method selected at checkout.
When a single pre-order book becomes available, it will generally be sent separately via untracked Australia Post at no additional shipping charge.
