 Who Was Dmitri Kabalevsky?

Dmitri Kabalevsky (1904–1987) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and showed early talent in music. He moved to Moscow with his family, where he initially studied at the Scriabin Musical Institute. Later, he entered the Moscow Conservatory, studying composition under esteemed composers like Nikolai Myaskovsky.

Kabalevsky gained a reputation for being more conservative in his musical style, especially when compared to some of his contemporaries like Dmitri Shostakovich.
