Sceptre Ventana Standard Double Cutaway Sonic Blue SSS with Indian Laurel Board by Levinson

A Striking Sonic Blue with Beloved 60's Sound with Crisp Top End For Optimal Projection

The Ventana Standard LSV1-SBL in Sonic Blue SSS with an Indian Laurel Board epitomises the essence of the Sceptre Ventana Series, drawing inspiration from the scenic beauty of Big Sur. With a legacy of attracting visionaries like Orson Wells and Jack Kerouac, Ventana serves as the foundation for this exceptional guitar.

Crafted with an Okoume body, the Ventana delivers the beloved classic 60’s sound within a modern framework. Its North American hard maple neck, Indian Laurel fingerboard, and 240mm/9.5” radius with a real bone nut ensure superior playability. Equipped with three calibrated Levinson S-E1 single-coil pickups featuring ALNICO 5 magnets, this guitar produces a timeless tone with a crisp top end for optimal projection. Additionally, the custom 50mm magnet spacing of the neck pickup ensures remarkable string-to-string response, while the middle position pickup offers noiseless operation in positions 2 and 4.

Enhanced with a Wilkinson WOV 02 tremolo and die-cast machine heads, the Ventana Standard guarantees smooth and effortless tuning, catering to the needs of today’s discerning musicians. A modern classic that embodies both style and performance, the Ventana Standard LSV1-SBL is a testament to precision craftsmanship and sonic excellence.

THE ORIGIN OF LEVINSON SCEPTRE

It’s been over 50 years since Gary Levinson started building and repairing guitars. He has had the honour of building instruments for some of the world’s greatest guitarists over this expanse of time. During the late 60’s Gary was part of a small but exclusive repair shop in Champaign, Illinois. He met many of the music icons of the 60’s and 70’s when they came to play at the University of Illinois, and did work for everyone from the Grateful Dead to Cat Stevens.

At the University of Illinois, Gary Levinson studied applied and natural sciences and continued this when he came to Basel Switzerland in 1971. The creation of tone is a wonderful science - part Physics and part magic. During Gary's graduate studies at the University of Basel, he continued guitar work and founded Guitars by Levinson in Basel, Switzerland in 1977. This is history and has been a part of the Blade Guitars story over the years.

Sceptre Guitars is the result of using his experience of these 50 years to create a line of instruments of impeccable build integrity with exceptional playability and great tone. All instruments utilise excellent raw materials, top hardware and Gary's new line of Levinson custom wound pickups.

You owe it to yourself as a musician to experience these instruments.
