THE ORIGIN OF LEVINSON SCEPTRE
Itās been over 50 years sinceĀ Gary LevinsonĀ started building and repairing guitars. He has hadĀ the honour of building instruments for some of the worldās greatest guitarists over this expanse of time. During the late 60āsĀ GaryĀ was part of a small but exclusive repair shop in Champaign, Illinois. He met many of the music icons of the 60ās and 70ās when they came to play at the University of Illinois, and did work for everyone from theĀ Grateful DeadĀ toĀ Cat Stevens.
At the University of Illinois,Ā Gary LevinsonĀ studied applied and natural sciences and continued this when heĀ came to Basel Switzerland in 1971. The creation of tone is a wonderful science - part Physics and part magic. DuringĀ Gary'sĀ graduate studies at the University of Basel, heĀ continued guitar work and foundedĀ Guitars by LevinsonĀ in Basel, Switzerland in 1977. This is history and has been a part of theĀ Blade GuitarsĀ story over the years.
Sceptre GuitarsĀ is the result of using his experience of these 50 years to create a line of instruments of impeccable build integrity with exceptional playability and great tone. All instruments utilise excellent raw materials, top hardware andĀ Gary'sĀ new line ofĀ Levinson custom wound pickups.
You owe it to yourself as a musician to experience these instruments.
