He met many of the music icons of the 60’s and 70’s when they came to play at the University of Illinois, and did work for everyone from the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGrateful Dead\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eto\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCat Stevens\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the University of Illinois,\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGary Levinson\u003c\/strong\u003e studied applied and natural sciences and continued this when he came to Basel Switzerland in 1971. The creation of tone is a wonderful science - part Physics and part magic. During\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGary's\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003egraduate studies at the University of Basel, he continued guitar work and founded\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGuitars by Levinson\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ein Basel, Switzerland in 1977.
