The transcription for easy string orchestra was done by Bingiee Shiu. Graupner, who lived from 1683 to 1760, was a German harpsichordist and composer of high Baroque music. He was a contemporary of Bach, Telemann, and Handel. Despite being hardworking and prolific, with about 2000 surviving works in his catalog, Graupner's music fell into obscurity after his death. This was partially due to a legal dispute over the ownership of his manuscripts and the change in musical styles that marked the beginning of the Classical period. Interestingly, Graupner was offered the Cantorate position in Leipzig just before Bach, but his current patron paid his back wages and increased his salary to retain him, which allowed Bach to be appointed instead.
